Forthcoming Study: Gauquelin Sectors and Astro*Carto*Graphy — A Diurnal Angularity Model (11 July 2026)

The European Astro*Carto*Graphy Association will publish a research paper on 11 July 2026 examining the relationship between Gauquelin sectors and astrocartography. The study investigates whether planetary effects observed beyond exact angular lines may be more accurately understood in terms of post-angular phases of diurnal motion, as identified in the statistical work of Michel Gauquelin. In doing so, it introduces a diurnal angularity model as a potential framework for describing extended angular influence within locational astrology.

The research is based on a combined analysis of Gauquelin’s sector theory and contemporary astrocartographic observation. Its objective is to clarify the role of angularity in locational astrology without modifying established practice at this stage. Further methodological detail and supporting material will be presented in the full publication.

The present study is based on direct analysis of Michel Gauquelin’s original publications from 1955 onward, including his contributions to Les Cahiers Astrologiques and his methodological work Méthodes pour étudier la répartition des astres dans le mouvement diurne (1957). It also draws on his French-language interviews and conference material, allowing for a broader reconstruction of his methodological approach beyond the published corpus. Particular attention has been given to the original terminology and conceptual framework as developed in French, thereby avoiding the interpretative shifts often introduced through translation or secondary commentary.

The full paper will be published on 11 July 2026.
